My first Glossybox!!

I recently suscribed to Glossybox and recieved my first box this morning....I was so excited! So, if you don't know what Glossybox is...it's a subscription for 10.00 and you get sent a box of 5 premium beauty samples to try each month, for more information go to glossybox.co.uk. I found out about this from watching beauty videos on youtube, I actually saw the american version first (called Myglam) before realising there was a UK version! I haven't used any of the products yet so this is just a post about what I recieved in my January box, not a review of the products I recieved. As you can see it's a bright pink box- I've read other glossybox blogs and knew this was a special edition box for Valentines because it's normally pale pink. There's also a glossybox sweet inside which is a nice little touch! The box comes wrapped up in tissue paper, tied with a ribbon and inside the products are in pink shredded paper. Overall it's very pretty and girly, which I LOVE!

So in my box I recieved the Eyeko Skinny eyeliner in emerald green, I think this is a full-sized product worth 9.50. A mini Orly nail laquer in the colour ruby. A 5ml sample of the Murad skin perfecting primer in dewy finish which is meant to give the skin a radiant glow and reduce the appearance of pores. A Weleda one-step cleanser and toner 10ml sample, and finally a 60ml sample of FAB gentle body wash aimed for people with sensitive skin. I signed up to Glossybox after some of the January boxes had already been dispatched, so they did state that the products I recieved wouldn't be tailored to my beauty profile until next month... however I'm still really pleased with the products I recieved in this glossybox- I can't wait to try them all out!!!

DIY make-up brush holder!

So, this is my post on how to make your own make-up brush holder! I've seen these on a lot of youtube videos uploaded by beauty gurus and thought they're a great way to store brushes. But....the ones you can buy are from the USA,  from glitzyglam.com (made by gurus Elle and Blair Fowler), and I didn't want to pay the postage and packaging, so I thought why not just make my own?? So all you need to make this is a medium sized container that's going to be big enough for all of your brushes and some small beads that are going to hold your brushes up.

I bought the beads off ebay from a wedding supply shop, they come in 9 different colours and you get 400g for 2.79 (plus 1.99 p&p). I chose the clear ones because I wanted to keep mine neutral. This is the link here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400G-GLASS-BEADS-IDEAL-TABLE-DECORATION-VASE-FILLER-9-COLOURS-AVAILABLE-/220911735825?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Celebrations_Occasions_ET&var=&hash=item7915e91a33. My beads were delivered really quickly, this is them below.

So, once you've got your beads, get your container and just tip them in! (be careful though, because mine nearly went everywhere, I wasn't looking forward to cleaning them all up!). I bought my container from Hobbycraft for 5.79, but im sure you can find a suitable container from anywhere! Then just add your brushes. You've got your home-made brush holder!

Clarins Daily Energizers

Hi guys! This is my review of the Clarins Daily Energizer Wake-up Booster and the Daily Energizer lotion that I have been using in my current skincare regime. I have also been using the Clarins Water Purify One-step cleanser because this was given to me as a free sample when I purchased the other items.

I was drawn to these products from seeing them advertised in magazines because I sometimes feel that my skin is very dull and needs a bit of a boost!  The range is described as 'gentle yet super-effective plant-based products with just 3 daily steps that ensures young skin looks clear, fresh and glowing and feels soft and smooth every day.  It’s a great start to lifelong beautiful skin.' Perfect for what I needed!

The Daily Energizer Wake-up Booster is a lotion aimed at refeshing dull skin. It comes in a 125ml bottle with a screw-top lid (price on boots.com is 15.00). I apply this to my skin using a cotton pad after I have cleansed, gently patting around my face and neck. It definately makes me feel more awake and my skin feels refreshed. The smell is fresh without being overpowering (the scent is one of the reasons I love these products!), and you only need a tiny amount to cover your whole face.

The Daily Energizer Lotion is a light-weight, oil free moisturiser for all skin types, with SPF 15. It comes in a 30ml glass bottle with a pump (price on boots.com is 19.50). This product has the same scent as the Wake-up Booster, so I love this product too. The lotion isn't too thick and absorbs into the skin quickly but still works as a great moisturiser! My only main negative about this product is that because it's only a 30ml bottle and it comes with a pump, you have to use two pumps to get enough product out to cover your whole face and neck and I can't really see the bottle lasting me that long! The only other thing I have noticed about the lotion is that when im having a dry skin day (which happens quite often during these horrible winter months), the lotion doesn't seem to moisturise my skin at all. However, this is because of my skin and not because of the lotion, if you have dry skin at all then I would recommend getting the Daily Energizer Cream instead.

I just thought I would also mention the Water Purify One-step cleanser because I recieved this as a sample and have been using it in my daily skincare regime with the other two products. The cleanser has mint essential water in and is aimed at combination/oily skin. It says on the back to 'soak a cotton pad and gently wipe over face. Perfectly cleanses and purifies in one refreshing step.' I totally agree with this statement! Again the scent is fresh without being overpowering and the product makes my skin feel clean without being harsh.

Overall, I really love these three products and wouldn't hesitate to purchase them again in the future. They make my skin feel beautiful and I've definately noticed an improvement in radiance! The only change I may make is to purchase the moisturising cream instead of the lotion to use in the winter when I need that extra boost of moisture.

Thanks for reading! Hope this has helped! xxx
